Hey Everyone!
I hope y’all are having a great week!

I’ve been reflecting on our little getaway to the coast from this past weekend! It was so fun watching Brewer’s sweet reaction to the beach!
We took him to the beach several times last summer but I think this trip, he really understood what was happening! He was playing in the sand, running back & forth down the beach, splashin’ in the water, and picking up seashells!
It has me all sorts of excited for summer with him! I’ll share more details from our weekend getaway at the end of today’s post!

Each year around this time, I tend to reflect on the school year. Today’s post is all about gratitude!
This past school year, I have been filled with so much gratitude!
Let me catch you up to speed incase you missed something along the way..

After graduating college with my bachelors degree in early childhood, I taught a combination of kindergarten & 4K (at the same school) for 6 years.

I also obtained my masters degree in early childhood education during those 6 years!

I loved it! I love teaching, I loved my school, I loved my coworkers, and I loved my students.

Then, I had sweet, baby boy, Brewer! Babies change everything… in all of the BEST ways!

My mama heart longed to be at home with him more. He is my world!
I had that desire in my heart to be at home but I didn’t quite know what that looked like for me. God knew!
When I least expected it, he put the idea of virtual teaching in front of me.

Let me say though, change is not easy for me. At all. However, I do have courage and I know that comes from the Lord! I felt His calling in this to make a change even though I had no clue what it would be like. I have learned since becoming a Christian that the Lord will guide our steps if He calls us to something. He always takes care of his children and His plans are so much better than we could ever dream! That’s why it’s so important to obey His calling!

So… one thing led to another and I accepted a virtual kindergarten teaching position with Cyber Academy of S.C.

It has been the best year and everyday, I feel so grateful! The beginning months were a lot to take in because everything was new. I had a lot to learn and adjust too. But oh my goodness, it has exceeded all of my expectations in the best ways possible!

I have taught the sweetest students, worked with such kind families, I’ve built relationships with coworkers (even in a virtual world) who I think the world of, this year has challenged me to grow as an educator by taking me out of my comfort zone, and most importantly, it has given me SO much more time with my sweet boy!

I have built connections with students this year that I’ll treasure forever as I’ve watched them grow, learn to read, learn to add, tell stories, and so, so much more!
Prior to teaching, I worked in a leasing office while I was in college. I always loved the idea of an office because I’m also super type A when it comes to organization and structure.
Virtual teaching has given me that office feel type of work but I’m also still using my passion for helping students learn and grow! I get to be creative with my students each day which I love! I feel like this job was meant for me!

Above all.. there’s motherhood, my favorite job in the entire world!
These moments with Brewer are so precious to me and I’m so grateful for God’s provision that allowed me to create more moments with my sweet boy this school year!

If you ever feel the Lord calling you to do something, no matter what it is, I want to encourage you to act on it! His plans are so much better than ours. Sure you may be scared to make a change, I was scared. But deep down, if you feel the Lord calling you to something, He will take care of you and work out the details! He hasn’t failed me once. He will not fail you either!

Now, I’m going to share more pictures from our getaway this weekend:

We arrived at Isle of Palms Saturday afternoon!

We immediately walked down to the beach!

Brewer’s reaction to God’s beautiful creation of the beach was incredible!

The sweetest moments with my boys!

Brewer watched a bird fly right over us! It was so sweet!

Then, we headed out to dinner at…

Acme cantina!

Harry & I have been going here for years! It’s extra special going back there with Brewer!

All of the little old ladies walked by and squeezed his cheeks! Lol!

Saturday morning, we had breakfast on the screened in porch of the family beach house!

Saturday was beach day!!

That face! He played so hard!

He took a nap as we went for a walk down the beach!

Like father, like son!

It was the perfect beach day with perfect spring weather- not too hot!

We had Paige’s Okra Grill for dinner!

It was the perfect little getaway weekend with my boys that I will treasure forever!
