That’s a wrap… hello summer!

Hey, Hey!

Happy Wednesday!

I’m back today with an annual blog post that I write each year to reflect on the school year and kick off all things SUMMER!

Let’s start with all of the end of year fun!

This was Brewer’s first ever field day and I was so happy to be there to witness all the excitement with his sweet class!

We are so proud of this sweet preschooler!

This year, Brewer began a (big) new school with lots of new people and he absolutely thrived!! We could not love his fun, social, and outgoing spirit, more!

Brewer’s end of year program was so special!

His class performed songs in the school auditorium. Then, they were awarded certificates by their 4K teacher. After receiving their certificate, each child waved goodbye to 4K, walked around a table where they were greeted by a kindergarten teacher who handed them a book and said, “Welcome to Kindergarten.”

Cue the tears!! It was the sweetest thing!

We’re also grateful for amazing teachers and leadership who make school extra special!

Brewer’s teachers gave us a portfolio full of pictures and school work from the year. This makes my mama (& teacher heart) so happy! ❤️

Goodbye 4K and helloOoOo Kindergarten!!

Flashback to the first day of 4K

Last day of 4K

❤️

Capers had a sweet year at our church preschool!

This place has been home to us for many years and we’re grateful for the memories it has given us!

Capers had the sweetest teacher, Mrs. Teresa!

To know her, is to love her. She’s a true gem and gift from Jesus!

~

And this is where I need tissues to continue today’s blog post…

It’s not just the end of a school year, but it’s also the end of a very special chapter for us, at the preschool we’ve called home since Brewer was a baby!

Brewer went here through 3K and Capers has been here since he was a baby.

Memory lane…

Grateful. Beyond grateful for First Baptist Spartanburg, Week Day School and the way it has forever changed our lives!

Looking back at these photos, we’re reminded of all the wonderful things this ministry brought us… amazing teachers who we love, classmates + their families who are now lifelong friends, and countless milestones + precious memories.

This ministry ultimately led us to call this church home on Sunday mornings too. It’s a huge blessing in our lives!

As the weekday doors come to a close for everyone, it brings me to a Dr. Seuss quote..

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

We will treasure these memories forever! We’re looking forward to what comes next, especially for our sweet Capers, this fall.

The next chapter in itself is another God story! ❤️

Let’s jump back into some fun things to kick off summer!

Each year, I create a summer schedule. We use the term “schedule” loosely but it’s something🩵

This probably looks familiar because it’s also something we do each year! I make a “sunshine web” for our summer bucket list. I write all the things on it (big & small) that we want to do over the summer.

We kicked off summer with a trip to Strawberry Hill to get strawberries for Memorial Day Weekend!

I always love the ice-cream parlor’s banners!

Fun on the farm

We also had our last day of school meal to celebrate the school year and kick off summer! We had pizza from a new place in town called “Downtown Pizza.” It was great!

The first Saturday of summer was rainy!

It called for making pancakes

..with my little helpers!

We also took a trip to the farmers market!

Later that day, Capers came down with a stomach bug.

Sunday was another cozy, rainy day watching a summer classic while Capers recovered from being sick.

Harry and Brewer went to church and made a trip to Bass Pro Shop after! So handsome 🤍

Sunday evening, we took a walk to see the cows!

Memorial Day! We are grateful for all who served and paid the ultimate sacrifice so we can live this life of freedom.

We had a low key Memorial Day here at home..

..with all of the backyard fun! 🙂

…and the next day, Brewer was sick too! Ohh and the washer went out! And it rained a lot. Lol, you just have to laugh right? Sick kiddo, no washer! Fun times!

~

Both boys are recovered, we have a new washer, and we’re grateful for the rain that we needed 🙂

Okay, I’m off to summer memories with the boys!

See y’all next week on the blog!
