This is one of my favorite posts of the year!! Each year, I take a look back by compiling what we did each month of the year into one blog post! This morning, I started reading previous “year in review” posts and they make me smile so big. It is so easy to see God’s blessings through posts like these!
2018 was a big year for us! So much has happened this year! Let’s get to it…
January
Harry and I rang in the New Year very casually ~ I hosted my first book theme baby shower for AnnaVee and baby Mason- Click here to see more: Oh Baby!~ We had some snow days with our neighbors, Connor and Madison ~ We attended a Wofford basketball game ~ I went to Charleston for Chelsea S.’s birthday ~ Ace turned 5!!February
We celebrated Valentine’s day with a movie and take- out ~ We attended Ethan’s scout ceremony where he crossed over from cub scout to boy scouts ~ Had a fancy night out for an engagement party ~ Celebrated some birthdays ~ Sweet Mason was born!!March
My mom turned the big 5-0, so that called for a celebration ~ We took a weekend trip to Charleston and saw Harry’s brother Brooks and his dog Grady ~ We dog sat little Lola for Erin ~ We went to see Steel Magnolias and LOVED it ~ Celebrated St. Patrick’s Day in downtown Spartanburg ~ Ace got sick for the first time ever!!April
We celebrated Easter ~ We officially joined our church at The Mill ~ Attended the Masters ~ Attended the first wedding of the year with friends ~ Attended a baby shower for Teighlor and baby Tillman ~ Had a night out with Natalie ~ Completed my 2 hour research presentation for grad school!! Whew!!May
This was a big month!! I finished grad school!! ~ We bought our very first house ~ Celebrated life accomplishments with AnnaVee ~ Celebrated Cinco De Mayo in downtown Spartanburg ~ Enjoyed lots of spring days outside!June
This month was spent unpacking at the house ~ We attended a Luke Bryan concert ~ My step brother Austin got his eagle scout ~ We had a weekend in Charlotte with my sister ~ lots of lake days ~ I took Ethan and Sara to Carowinds ~ Wedding fun ~ Our friends Luke and Teighlor had their sweet baby!July
Celebrated the 4th of July at the lake- You can read about that here: Red, White, and Blue Recap ~ Celebrated my 27th birthday with friends ~ Took a beach trip to Charleston ~ Harry started a new job at Spartanburg Methodist College ~ We went to Atlanta to see the Braves play with Ashley and Hamp ~ We went to Spartanburg’s annual event, Pickin in the Park after Brittany H. and I waited hours on tickets LOL ~ Celebrated some family birthdays ~ Chelsea M. and I also had lots of girl nights this month before she moved to Charlotte!!August
I had my wisdom teeth removed this month and was out of commission for a bit ~ I spent a day with Brittney K. and she asked me to be in her wedding- um YES! ~ Enjoyed some days outside ~ Began my 4th year of teaching ~ Spent an evening with Connor and Madison ~ Started the football season by attending a game with Harry at his Alma Mater ~ Ethan turned 11 ~ I got baptized!!September
Fall Fun ~ We went to see Ethan play football ~ Had a night out in Greenville ~ This was also the month that God taught me a lot about grace — You can read about that here: Tell All Tuesday: Give Yourself Some GraceOctober
Attended a South Carolina game in Columbia ~ Went to the state fair ~ Dressed up for Storybook Character Day at work ~ Celebrated our first Halloween at our new house ~ We also went to Sky Top Orchard this month ~ Celebrated a couple of birthdays!November
We celebrated Thanksgiving with family ~ Celebrated Nick and Mary Grace’s engagement with friends ~ My old car, Dora the Explorer died on me this month. After searching and searching, we finally decided on a new car, Dolly the honda CRV 🙂 ~ Our favorite tradition: we attended Dickens of a Christmas in the square of downtown SpartanburgDecember
Lots of Christmas Cheer!! ~ I had a girls day with AnnaVee to see The Nutcracker Ballet ~ We attended a Panthers game ~ Harry turned 27 ~ We celebrated our 3rd year anniversary ~ We had several snow days that were amazing ~ Celebrated Christmas with family- You can see our Christmas Recap here: The Most Wonderful Time of the Year~
That wraps up our 2018! It was a big year!! There were some difficult times in the mix but I feel so grateful looking back over this year and seeing all of the memories that God allowed us to make! He blessed us with more than we deserve!
