Motivation Monday: Being rooted in His love

It’s Monday! It’s May! It’s the first Monday in May!

That calls for a Motivation Monday topic!!

I read a devotion lately that talked about being rooted in HIS love!

“So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith- that you, being rooted and grounded in love…” Ephesians 3:17

I think sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in being “rooted” in earthly things. Such as: a job, a city, a forever home, etc..

I think it’s great to have goals and dreams like that! We certainly have some of our own! It’s also important to remember not to become, “rooted” in those things over being “rooted” in God’s love!

If you think about it, it’s selling ourselves short to think that way… to think we will be “rooted” in something earthly just because we desire it.

God is always making big moves! I think it’s important to stay open minded to His callings instead of becoming fixated about “being rooted.” We don’t want to miss out on anything He has planned for us!

We need only to be rooted in His love! Find comfort and peace wherever you are at this moment in life because you’re rooted in His love. This way, you won’t miss out on the beauty of the present either!

If we’re always rooted in His love and nothing else that’s earthly, you’ll be ready to hear His next calling for You!

God certainly does call us to plant roots sometimes! It’s important though to not become so fixated, that we miss out on the very moment in front of us, perhaps a calling He has for us, and the beauty of the unknown- plans that only He knows!

I sensed a message as I read through this devotion… “Fix yourself on being rooted in His love rather than anything earthy.”

I hope you also felt encouraged by this to just be “rooted in Jesus’ love” and nothing else!

*I’ll be back on the blog, tomorrow!*
