Occasionally on Thursdays, I’ll post a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I hope everyone is enjoying their week/ summer! This is the random assortment of things on my list to talk about, enjoy! 🙂
1. This week:
This week, I have focused on cleaning out. I have thrown out a lot of junk that has taken up too much space for far too long. My motto this week has been: instead of reorganizing the junk, just get rid of it. I feel so much better about life when I clean out.
2. Looking Forward to:
I am currently looking forward to the 4th of July. My husband will have the day off work and we always do something fun to celebrate. Likely, we will be at the lake or Red, White, Boom in Spartanburg on Tuesday the 4th to celebrate! Ace is 4th of July ready!
3. Currently Dreading:
Right this minute, I am dreading the last couple of grad school assignments that are standing between me and the weekend. Trying to stay positive…
4. Reminiscing on:
I am currently reminiscing on my beach trip that I took over the weekend with my besties, Kacy and Brittany. We took a trip to good ole Myrtle Beach and had a blast. The three of us grew up going there with our families and friends, so we went back and relived all of the fun things there that we did as kids. We went to Family Kingdom and rode all of the rides that we remember from our childhood (so fun!), we went to Broadway, played putt- putt, and had lots of beach time! We also tried new places including Liberty Tap Room and Paula Deen’s Restaurant. Both of those places are located at Broadway. I would definitely go back to Liberty Tap Room, it’s a great place to just hang out. Paula Deen’s had good food but we all agreed, it is not somewhere that we would visit every time we’re in town! Definitely something you should try at least once!
5. Watching/ Reading:
Okay, today lets talk about what I’m watching.. The Bachelorette! Of course! Who do y’all think Rachel is going to pick?? I already know who she picks but I promise I won’t reveal who it is! (I’m one of those that can’t ever wait til the finale and I look it up each season! I also have to look it up because it is so likely that I’ll find out anyway because the tabloids put it all over the covers of magazines.) Aside from knowing who she picks, I’ll tell you who I like.. Peter! I think they have a good connection and he seems so genuine and honest. He seems so trustworthy and loyal too. I think he is truly there for Rachel! I like others too but I think Peter is my fav. What do y’all think?
6. Listening to:
This is what my playlist looks like lately. On the way home from the beach, I heard the song XXX’s and OOO’s by Trisha Yearwood for the first time in forever. It got me listening to old country music that was popular when I was a kid, so that’s my current playlist, mixed in with some current country music. I love country music because it just never goes out of style no matter how old the song is! What girl doesn’t like country music?!
7. What’s on the Menu:
Sunday, when I came home from the beach, Harry had made pot roast, and I gotta say, he did a great job! I think there will always be some things that we consider, “A Man’s Meal” that he will cook instead of me. This may be one of them. This is what he included:
3 lb chuck roast, 1 chopped onion, a bag of chopped carrots, 1/2 bag of chopped celery, 5 chopped potatoes, 1 packet of dried onion soup mix, 1 cup of low sodium beef broth, salt, and pepper
Prepare it in the morning and set the crock pot on low and allow it to cook for 8- 10 hours.
This will feed a family! We had plenty of left overs for the week!
8. I’m Loving:
My new tassel earrings by AF Lee Designs. How cute!! I work with the owner of the jewelry collection and she recently launched an earring line. She also creates necklaces. Check out her facebook page or her instagram account: AF Lee Designs!
9. Weekend Vibes:
It is almost the weekend!! We are spending this weekend in the sun. Lake Lure, here we come!
10. Bible Verse:
“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you. Isaiah 54:10
I read this verse with one of my devotions this week and it was a great reminder that God’s love is unfailing. He loves us on our good days and our bad days. Never forget that!
Have a great rest of the week/ weekend!
