And That’s a Wrap for Summer 2018

I feel like I blinked and summer was over!! How can that be?

With that being said, I was talking to Harry this weekend about all of the things we got to do this summer! I feel so blessed every year that my job allows me to wind down, relax, and have some fun in the summer with my friends/ family.

Today, I am recapping summer 2018 because it definitely held moments that I don’t want to forget!

A lot of our summer consisted of moving!! We moved into our new house the first week of summer and so far, we are loving it! We are still in the process of decorating and picking out furniture for each room in the house but it has been such a fun (and busy) process!

We also love the neighborhood! Our neighbors have been so helpful and welcoming! Ace is also living his best life here because he finally has his own yard to play in!

First check box on my summer list.. take these two to Carowinds! Ethan is finally tall enough to ride most of the big kid rides, so we had a blast!

3

Harry surprised me with tickets to see Luke Bryan!!

We love outdoor venues in the summer!

4 7

We spent a weekend in Charlotte with my sister! We rode scooters (the hype is definitely worth it!) and we went out for dinner/ live music.

6

My step- brother Austin got his eagle scout!!

We celebrated the 4th of July at the lake!

You can read all about that here: Red, White, and Blue Recap

We enjoyed a lot of summer days at home!

We took a road trip to Atlanta with Ashley and Hamp to see the Braves play!

 16 17

Brittany and I sat in line for hours to get tickets for Spartanburg’s annual event, Pickin’ in the Park! It was totally worth it! We had so much fun.. waiting in line and at the concert lol

18

I celebrated my 27th birthday in Spartanburg with all of my birthday babes!

20 21

Harry and I headed to the Isle of Palms for a vaca! We had lots of beach time and good seafood!

22 23

I got to see this pretty little friend of mine!! She also asked me to be in her wedding and of course I said YES! Brittney stood by me on my wedding day and I can’t wait to return the favor! Brittney and I have been friends since high school and I love our friendship because no matter where we go in life, our friendship remains the same!

Harry and I went to dinner with these two (plus their dad!) These cute kiddos were our neighbors at our apartment for 3 years and we really did become family during those 3 years! I love these people so much!!

Other things that took place this summer that are not pictured:

-Lots of girl nights on Monday’s for our weekly Bachelor episodes!!

-Harry and I got to see Chelsea and her boyfriend in Charleston and catch up at a cute restaurant called Grace and Grit!! If you’re visiting the area, I definitely recommend!

-Harry started a new job at Spartanburg Methodist College as the Assistant Director of Admissions!

-Celebrated a couple of family/ friend birthdays!! Ryan & Brittany!

-I ended my summer in a not so fun way by having my wisdom teeth removed. I did not have a fun experience with that.. at all. BUT none the less, I’m thankful that I’m on my way to a full recovery!

I’m sad to see summer go but I am just as excited about starting a new school year!! I get excited just like the students do about going back to school!

When thinking about starting a new school year and the kind of teacher I want to be, one thing always comes to mind..

.. I always want to be the teacher that I would have wanted/ needed as a kid!

My classroom set- up has not changed much from last year! You can check that out here: 4K is Super Cool

Tonight as I go to bed, I’ll continue praying for each new kiddo on my roster this year and praying that God will allow me and my fellow teachers to love and make a difference!
