Winding Down on the Weekends

How to wind down on the weekends?

This can sometimes be difficult after a long week of work, errands, and constantly being on the go. I think it is so important to be able to wind down though and focus on things in your personal life.

These are our tips and tricks!

Friday nights are always date nights for us! We try to cook all of our meals throughout the week so Friday nights, we go out and grab dinner somewhere simple. Usually this consists of Monterray’s (best Mexican place in Spartanburg), BBQ places- especially in the fall, anywhere in downtown Spartanburg including Miyako’s Sushi or Wild Ace Pizza Pub, and sometimes we venture into down town Greenville on Friday nights, etc!

We love our Friday night food! I call those places Friday night foods because they are simple, not super healthy, but oh so good, and we deserve it on Friday nights!

We also try to keep it simple on Friday nights because usually we are tired from the work week, so after we eat dinner, we come home and unwind by watching movies or tv together  until we fall asleep.

Saturday mornings are totally different! We wake- up on Saturday’s feeling refreshed and we are ready to go. We do a  little Bible study and sometimes, we have things to do at home like grad school work, work-out, clean, laundry, etc. After those things are done, we love to be outdoors. We love to get in the car and just go!

Go.. can mean anywhere! Sometimes, we take Ace to the park to run, we love to be at the lake, in the fall- we love going up to the mountains to walk around, and lately, we have been going to Greenville a good bit to visit Falls Park because the weather is just so amazing outside!

Saturday nights totally just depend! We usually have plans including dinner with family, dinner with friends, celebrating someone’s birthday, weddings, if it is football season- we are watching the big games, etc. If we don’t have any specific plans, we love to just go with the flow and see where the evening takes us.

Sunday mornings, we wake up and go to church! I love to end a week and begin a brand new week in worship! After church, we usually come home for lunch and do any last minute chores before Monday rolls back around. This can include- going out to get materials for upcoming lessons at work, more grad school work, making a grocery list, or finishing laundry.

We try our best to relax and not do too much on Sunday’s. We stay at home for the most part and just hang out! Usually there is a big sporting event on tv, we are outside with Ace, when I get the opportunity- I like to just read.. Over spring break, I started reading The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks but I haven’t had a chance to finish it yet (LOVE his books!), and I blog a lot on Sunday’s. I’ll go ahead and write a blog post for an upcoming day! Blogging is a great relaxation for me because it is something that I enjoy!
