A Day in the Life

Hello blog fam!

I hope y’all have had a great week leading up to Easter weekend!

Every now & then, I like to do, “A Day in the Life” blog post! Yesterday, I did my best to snap some photos to document what a random weekday looks like for us!

It was a Thursday filled with our ordinary, day to day life things. It looked a lot like this…

Thursday, March 28th, 2024:

I set my alarm for 6 am. Harry & I woke up and had about an hour before the boys started waking up. Capers has been doing wonderful sleeping through the night and letting us sleep too!

(Disclaimer: Harry is currently on paternity leave. He took his leave when my leave ended. We plan to make our wake- up time a bit sooner when he’s back at work.)

We got ready for the day, we both did a little, at home work- out, then…

We did our quiet times!

Both boys started waking up a little a little after 7!

We spent time with the boys and fed them.

I started my work day at 8. Harry brought me coffee in a Christmas cup, lol.

Harry called me out back to see all of the deer!

Then, Harry left to take Brewer to school. He attends a week day church program and they were having an Easter egg hunt & party on this day! Finding these pre- stuffed eggs felt like a mom win, lol.

I began teaching at 8:30. Harry came home after dropping Brewer off & made breakfast: eggs with spinach & grits. I can get use to him being on paternity leave. Haha.

I love walking through the kitchen during little breaks and seeing fresh flowers! This always brings me joy!

After my morning classes ended around 11, I did some more work at my desk: answering emails, making lesson slides, chatting with my team etc.

Then, took a break and did some tummy time with my sweet boy! (And threw our bed sheets in the washer hence why baby is on the mattress cover) Then went back to teaching around 12:45 until 2:15. Then, I did a few more things for work before calling it a day…. And hello spring break!

That afternoon, we headed out to pick Brewer up. Brewer had a successful egg hunt/ Easter party with his friends!

We made a stop at a coworker’s house who lives local to me! She does children’s clothing consignment and I got Brewer a few things including these cute little native shoes.

We celebrated the start to spring break with Brusters! Sorbet for me 😉 I’m not a big fan of dairy ice-cream. Never have been! Especially on a hot day, I’d rather have sorbet or an icee.

Funny convo at the drive thru:

Harry: “Why does your order have to be so long?”

My order: small cup of strawberry lemon sorbet 😂

We came home and hung out on the back porch while Brewer played outside. I love seeing everything slowly turning green again!

I played with Capers in his room & took a little video.

We rocked in the chair! And somehow this is the only photo of me from this day lol. And somehow Harry didn’t make it into any photos. Ha! Life with two littles 🩵🩵

We made dinner: salad with buffalo chicken on top! (Forgot to take a photo) Nuggets for Brewer.

We started getting the boys ready for bed around 8:30. Harry laid with Brewer and I fed the baby and rocked him to sleep.

Then, Harry & I got ready for bed and did house chores: dishes, wash bottles, put sheets back on the bed, etc. and soon after, called it a day! We were asleep around 10:30.

And that is a day in the life of us! A random weekday, uneventful, just doing life, and we wouldn’t change a thing! These are my favorite blog posts to look back on, too!

I was going to do two posts today and give you a “Fab Friday” blog post this month but I thought about it and it’s Good Friday!

I want to talk about Jesus. 7 years ago on Good Friday, I blogged about my relationship with Jesus and how you can have one too, if you don’t already.

Find it, here: A Relationship with Jesus

Jesus is the only thing in this world that matters. You can have every worldly thing yet still be empty without Jesus OR you can have nothing in this world yet have everything with Jesus.

He is the way, the truth, and the life.. John 3:16

Don’t miss the meaning of this weekend. Take time to reflect on what Easter really means!

I’m so grateful for Jesus, His love, and the ultimate sacrifice he paid so that we can live a life of freedom, joy, and peace.

Jesus will change your life if you let Him!

~

Happy Easter weekend!!

*I will be back on the blog, Monday!*
