Hello Blog fam!!

Happy 1st day of February!

This year is super exciting because as the calendar turns a new month, our sweet Capers turns another month!

Today, on the first day of love month, Capers is two months!! And oh how we love him so!

It’s been two months filled with more love, more joy, more smiles, and so much more sweetness!

Today, I am going to recap Capers month two! I’ll talk about his experiences, new milestones, his likes, dislikes, and how we’re doing as a family of four!

My quiet time looks like this lately! It makes me so happy. Thank you Jesus for this sweet blessing!

He already likes to worship!

Speaking of worship, Capers had his first Sunday at church this month! He did amazing!

He loves the “snuggle me” baby lounger. Look at those lips!

I often lay the “snuggle me” inside the bassinet. He’s a fan!

He loves to be swaddled when he’s sleeping. This month, he’s been giving us 6-7 hour stretches of sleep! We know that is a huge blessing.

On the occasion that he is up at an odd hour, I truly do just soak it all in. I stare at him, I listen to him breathe, feel how warm & tiny he is. These moments are sacred.

Lately, he starts out in the bassinet by our bed and early in the mornings after the first feeding, I’ll move him and the “snuggle me“ to our bed!

He didn’t mind bath times this month. I still wouldn’t say he loves it but he doesn’t seem bothered when he’s in the tub.

Bath times are always fun when big brother, Brewer helps!

Capers loves his big brother. We catch him looking at Brewer quite often!

Brewer lays next to him a lot and just chit chats. He loves to show Capers his cars too. I just know that they are going to be the best of friends!

We love going for walks in the limousine! Haha.

Capers sleeps during all of our walks! I think he really does enjoy the bassinet/ stroller and being on the move outside!

He also doesn’t mind the car seat and riding in the car! This was before we left the house one day. Is there anything cuter than a baby in a hat?!

Capers remains a very calm baby!

He LOVES to be held! He’s the happiest being held.

So this is what we do.. we spend our days snuggling and it makes me so happy too! It’s so sweet having a baby that wants to be in my arms all the time!

He loves rocking in the glider in his room. It puts him right to sleep!

We introduced Capers to Brewer’s favorite baby toy, this month! The kick and play piano! Right now, he just stares at it and doesn’t lay there for too long. I’m sure he will be more interested in the next month or two.

We stayed home a lot that first month because well.. that’s what you do with a newborn. Which was perfect because it was Christmas and snuggle season! Now that he’s a little bit older, we feel more comfortable taking him a few places + we’ve had some nice weather days lately!

On this particular day, we went for a day trip to Hendersonville! We’re loving these memories as a family of 4!

If he’s not swaddled, he tends to fall asleep with his hands up like this! So sweet!!

If Caper’s isn’t sleeping, we are typically holding him, but I’ll say this is his favorite place to lay, kick, and stretch!! I think he is fascinated by the mirror!

He is also warming up to the lounger bounce seat. I think it’s because he loves staring at the chandelier above this in the kitchen! We just have to make sure it’s off! Look at that grin!

Smiling became a thing this month!! It has melted this mama heart to see him smiling back at us!

We’ve been incorporating more tummy time this month. It usually only lasts a few minutes before he’s ready for us to pick him back up!

Capers also met some new faces this month like Emily & Annie Beth! We’re saving this for a future save the date card lol ya know.. a little “then & now” picture!

He was also here to celebrate Brewer turning 3!!! It was a memorable birthday for Brewer to have his baby brother this year.

It’s seriously been the sweetest month 2 of more memories and more first time things!

More things that Capers loves:

-Eating! Lol, just like his brother and Daddy

-If we’re in the living room as a family, he doesn’t mind laying on the ottoman with all of the noise around him. He likes noise!

-His sound machine when he’s sleeping!

Things Capers does not love:

-If he’s awake, he’s not a fan of being laid down for more than 10ish minutes?!

-This includes the swing… we’re still warming up to this.

How are we doing as a family?

We’re doing great! Truly, Capers has made it all so easy. He’s been a calm baby, he’s giving us sleep.. I mean, we can’t ask for more!

Brewer has not skipped a beat. He has transitioned to having a brother almost seamlessly! We are so proud of him!

The dogs have also done great. To them, I think it’s just “another baby!” lol. It’s like they know what to do and what not to do!

I relate to Capers in a special way because he’s the second baby and has a big brother. I was the second baby and had a big sister!

We love you so big, our precious, second baby boy!
