Capers’ 1st Christmas

Oh, what a Christmas to remember!

Capers’ first Christmas

We are so grateful our tiny Christmas gift made it home for Christmas!

We have loved every minute soaking in the wonder of the season as a family of 4!

Last week, I recapped all of our Christmas fun leading up to Christmas weekend. Find that, here:

Tis the Season

Today, I am recapping our Christmas weekend! It was a special one…

On Saturday, we had a special visitor come to our house! Look at that sweet newborn on Santa’s shoulder. Be still my heart!

Brewer has always loved Santa Claus! We haven’t had tears when meeting Santa to date!

Usually, we take Brewer to meet Santa. This year, we knew we would have a newborn so I arranged for Santa to come to our house!

Capers was due December 22nd and I had a good feeling he would arrive early (but not as early as he actually was- ha!)

So back in August (yep- that’s how far in advance I was thinking about this! Lol, we love Santa) I reached out to Santa to plan! It was SO special having Santa ring our doorbell. Brewer loved it!!

Both of the boys on Santa’s lap

This makes me so happy!

Half of my family came to town too! We had so much fun!

Bye Santa!!

It was such a sweet morning ❤

And all the kiddos in their matching outfits… that just melts me!

Christmas Eve morning, we took our first walk as a family of 4! Capers had his first stroll around the meadow. Brewer loved pointing out the cows!

Cochran Secret Santa brought my favorite photo of 2023 in the nicest frame on Christmas Eve!! My nightstand makes me smile.

Christmas Eve night is so special to me!

We open our matching Christmas pajamas for that year!

This year, the theme was baby blue Christmas!

Brothers in their matching pajamas ❤

For as long as I can remember, my siblings & I have watched the movie “Santa Claus” on Christmas Eve night! Now our kiddos get to do the same!!

We fed the reindeer

We made cookies for Santa

And this year, we had two special books to read on Christmas Eve night… “The Night Before Christmas” and a new book, “Capers’ Big Brother Brewer.”

The new book is so sweet!! It came from Wonderbly. It has a personalized message in it for the boys from mom & dad. The book also walks through their ages now, all the way to adulthood. It’s the cutest thing!

Baby’s First Christmas Eve

And to all a goodnight…. Unless you have a newborn. In which case, you were awake like me! Lol Those 3 am wake up calls have been extra sweet during the Christmas season with the tree as a night light each night!

Santa has made his visit to our house!

“I use to think being a child on Christmas was the best thing ever but it turns out, having a child on Christmas is the best thing ever!”

Brewer specifically asked Santa for 3 things:

A train table, Lightening McQueen, and Mater

(McQueen & Mater are the red car and truck from the Disney Pixar movie: cars)

and his answer never changed no matter how many times we asked him! Seeing his face on Christmas morning made my heart so happy!

It was time for Brewer to have his first tricycle too! He’s been riding one that we see at a local park and he was so excited to see that he has his own now!

Newborn snuggles on Christmas morning feels like Heaven!

After seeing what Santa brought, we opened presents under the tree. Brewer was so excited about that part this year, too!

Baby’s first Christmas!

Santa comes to see the pup pups too! They are just as excited on Christmas morning.

We did it, “DaDa Claus”…. First Christmas with our TWO baby boys!

Breakfast Casserole is a Christmas morning tradition!

That afternoon, we headed to Clover!

This was my cradle when I was a baby and now all of the grand babies sleep in it at Nana’s house!

Santa comes to Nana’s house too! Sweet Susie girl loved the tree!

The growing cousin crew! Brewer is no longer outnumbered with baby brother here ❤

The day after Christmas is for doing absolutely nothing other than staying in pajamas, newborn snuggles, and playing with Brewer’s new toys from Santa!

Trains were a thing this year! Brewer is obsessed with Choo Choo trains & anything that goes!

Capers Lynn Cochran.. you were the best gift ever under the tree this year!

It was a merry little Christmas indeed!

This will be a Christmas we talk about for years and years to come!

I hope your Christmas was filled with so much peace, love, and joy!

~

I always step away from all social media for a few days during the last week of the year to spend time thanking Jesus for His many blessings each year!

I have one more blog post to wrap up 2023! Catch me back here on Saturday!
