Brewer is 3… and a quarter!

Hello sweet friends!

Today’s blog post is all about our Brew Brew!

These toddler years are important and special! I want to continue with some quarterly blog posts while Brewer is 3, so I can bottle up all the things he’s doing, saying, learning, and loving!

As his mommy, I am loving age 3!!! Brewer is talking so much, he surprises us daily with the random little things he knows, he remembers everything, and he’s so funny!!

Our hardest *toddler phase* was 2.5! That age is adorable for a million reasons but it was challenging. It feels like 3 is a sweet spot!

It’s like his personality has been growing over the first few years of life and now I’m really beginning to see who he is, his interests, his mannerisms, and we’re having real conversations daily!

The biggest thing Brewer has adapted to lately is being a big brother! He has adapted way better than we could dream or imagine. He’s truly a champ!

Just a couple nights ago, Capers was crying and Brewer looked at him without prompt and said, “it’s okay papers.” (Capers 🩵)

I love my mommy/ Brewer time!

He has a special love for his Daddy!

We picked up a new hobby this spring.. t-ball!

We didn’t care if Brewer played in the dirt all season. We just wanted him to have fun! And y’all.. he is playing in the dirt but he’s also loving the sport! He listens well to the coaches, hits the ball, runs the bases, and gets excited to be there!

On the non t- ball days, he asks, “can we go to the ball game?”

So sweet!

Brewer also loves school! He still attends the weekday church program and he has learned so much! He gets excited to be with his friends, learn, and play,

We’re working on fine motor skills!

Brewer knows colors, he can count to 20, he knows shapes, and we’re beginning to work on letters!

Brewer loves his friends and talks about them daily!

He also loves all of his family members and talks about them daily!

We have the best friends who also pour into Brewer’s life, like Aunt Kacy who came to see him play T-ball! Seeing the people you love, love on your children is special!

Lately, he likes to carry around his Bible! I pray he always wants to read his Bible.

He wants his own “dip it” (aka condiments) when we go to restaurants, lol.

He likes to be the “driver.” Brewer is still a huge fan of all things that go: tractors, trucks, planes, and all the things

He loves animals of all kinds

He has a very special relationship with his puppy brothers! He loves taking naps with Ace!

We use to have to lay with Brewer in the big boy bed until he fell completely asleep but now he’s okay if we read a couple books to him and then leave while he continues to fall asleep!

He loves the dentist office!

Brewer is silly. He loves to make people laugh, especially his baby brother.

He doesn’t mind being a cute little kitchen helper.

Although, he is still a picky eater! His favorites are chopped up hot dogs, eggs, fruit, broccoli (surprisingly), and pizza. Other things like nuggets and spaghetti… it depends on the day. Ha!

Brewer loves little toys like his Toy Story action figures or lining all of his little race cars up one by one.

He continues to love being outdoors! He loves any and all playgrounds and wants to be on the “big kid playgrounds.”

This. Brewer is obsessed with Halloween and Christmas. He walks around daily talking about pumpkins, trick or treating, Santa, and Christmas trees. It’s April and these are topics of conversation. He is my child.

Lovies still go everywhere ❤

He always loves being at the coast and we’re getting excited for all the summer fun ahead!

I’m going to end today’s post with some of Brewer’s favorite things to say because I never, ever want to forget it:

Cookie chocolate– this is what he calls a “chocolate chip cookie” he says the words the opposite way of most people // he knows about the free kid cookie at Ingles and shouts “cookie chocolate” whenever we drive by Ingles

What’s that sound– if we hear a funny sound while outside, driving, etc, he says, “what’s that sound?”

Tumble bus– tumble bus came to his 3rd birthday party and since then, anytime we pass a yellow school bus, he shouts tumble bus! lol he is going to think kids go to school on the tumble bus

Papers– this is what he calls his baby brother, Capers

Can’t do it- sometimes if he doesn’t want to do something that we ask, he will say this

Buzz– we still call airplanes “buzz” for buzz lightyear

Happy birthday to Brewer– Anytime he sees a cake, he sings happy birthday to himself and pretends to blow out the candles

Right derr- he has developed a county accent (I have no idea where he gets it, lol JK. I know he gets it from me 🫣) I love to ask him where something is and he shouts “right DERR.”

Mommy’s house– He calls our house “mommy’s house” and he says “Brewers house” is outside (he’s referring to the playhouse haha) But he says all the boys live at “mommy’s house.”

Brewer’s in the middle– this is something we have done since Brewer was really little. Harry and I pick him up and put him in the middle of us and sing “Brewer’s in the middle, Brewer’s in the middle” and he laughs and laughs. It’s so cute to hear him come to us and say, “Brewer’s in the middle.”

Tunkin– this is his word for a pumpkin

Mommy/ Daddy not listening– There’s a new pattern.. if I correct his behavior, he goes to Harry and says, “Mommy’s not listening” and if Harry corrects his behavior, he comes to me and says, “Daddy’s not listening.”

I love you– this one will always be my favorite.. “I love you Mommy, Daddy, “Papers”, Ace, and Nash.”

Brewer, you are a very special boy to us and we love you big!

And that is life with our 3 year old.. one quarter in! It’s been oh so sweet!!

*I’ll be back on the blog on Wednesday!”
