Life Lately

Hell blog fam!!

Happy Wednesday! I hope y’all are having a great week!

Every once in a while, I like to blog just a round- up of life lately and catch up on all of the things. So today’s blog post is just that! Settle in for all the things pertaining to life lately…. ❤

Capers! We have had new life in our family for 3 months now and it’s been heavenly in every way.

Capers’ Birth Story

He made our holidays extra special!

Capers’ 1st Christmas

And has made the start to 2024 so special! We’re loving walking through a new year, introducing him to all the holidays and seasons!

Read about his latest month, here:

Capers: THREE month update!

Big brother Brewer loves him very much! He always lets us know when “Papers is crying” and when “Papers needs a baba.” Haha, he still calls him Papers. It’s so sweet!

Capers has been a perfect fit for our family!

After hunkering down at home during the early weeks of having a newborn, we started branching out for some fun as a family of 4! We had some fun day outings like this day, we took the boys to Hendersonville- one of our favorite places!

We also soaked in the cozy winter days at home playing with new Santa toys…

Train Table

…and birthday toys!

Toy Story Figures

Sweet monkey

We also celebrated Brewer turning 3 at the end of January!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Brewer!

Birthday Party!

Haha, I saw this photo in my camera roll and it made me smile. I forgot we did this. One day, we were heading out with the boys and they both fell asleep in the car. We stopped at Starbucks and Mom & Dad got treats! lol

Capers has turned into the giggliest little baby lately. He giggles at his toys, big brother, and mommy & daddy.

Valentines week was so sweet!

…until I woke up sick on Valentine’s Day! Ekk. I never go to the doctor for myself but this time I did because I thought I had the flu. I wanted to be sure for baby’s sake! I actually had Covid. I’ve had the virus before and never felt bad but this time, I was pretty down for the count for a couple of days. Let’s just say that parenting felt like survival mode these days! Whew.

My friend Emily and I have done bachelor watch parties for years. This season, we have been consistent with our Monday night watch parties. This bachelor season has been that good!! I always look forward to Mondays with her! She lives super close, so we alternate houses after we put babies to bed. ❤

Brewer has always loved our dogs but lately, his bond with Ace & Nash has been super sweet. He tries to take care of them, reaches his arms out for hugs from them often, and says things like, “I need my Ace.” Or “I need my Nash.” So sweet.

Baby feet are my favorite thing ever!! This was after bath time. Capers has grown to love bath time lately.

I can’t get enough of these two and their brother bestie bond.

We celebrated family birthdays recently at my sister’s house in Charlotte. The cousins really do play so well together. It makes my heart so happy!

We love the ordinary days at home ❤

The little moments mean the most. I call this my happiest, happiest season of life.. motherhood!

We loved all the snuggly winter months and are now really excited for all things spring! We’re ready for all the outdoor fun!

We’ve been loving these sunny walks around the meadow to see the animals!

And playing in the backyard!

Friday night, pizza in the park kinda became a thing for a few weeks!

A few weekends ago, Harry & Brewer had a boys night at the lake with the boys in the fam! Brewer helped pack his bag. It’s all the Toy Story figures lolllll I love that kid!

Meanwhile, baby Cape & I had a quiet night at home!

I blogged about Caper’s first trip to the coast from two weekends ago! That trip really got us excited for all the spring & summer plans ahead! I love the beach in the off seasons like spring & fall.

Baby’s first beach trip!

I snapped this one weekend morning while we were all waking up & taking it easy!

I went back to work last week and Harry began a 4 week paternity leave! We purposefully planned it that way 🙂

I loved introducing Capers to my students!!

Harry is loving paternity leave! They have such a sweet bond. This is Harry taking Capers on his first Costco run, haha.

Brewer loved book week at school recently. This was his first ever, storybook character day! Cutest little mouse everrrr!

Funny story about book week.. Brewer had to take his favorite book to school one day. He chose, Little Blue Truck Christmas! On the back of the book, there’s little pictures of other books from the Little Blue Truck series. He came home that day and showed me, “Little Blue Truck Halloween” on the back. He wanted it so bad so….. since it was book week, we ordered it! Lol He is so our child! He has a special kind of love for Christmas and Halloween.

He’s been carrying around his Easter basket at home filled with plastic eggs saying, “trick or treat.” 😆

A sweet neighbor gave Brewer these “highlight” books. Who remembers these?!! We’ve both had fun with this!

This photo in my camera roll made me laugh. Capers looks so tiny sitting in the driveway! Haha. This was on our way out the door for dinner..

This past weekend, we had dinner on the town square! Brewer requested his own, “dip it.” He calls all of the condiments “dip it.”

And the boys met the Easter Bunny!! Brewer has never liked the Easter bunny. He much prefers Santa. Lol. The only way we were getting a photo this year is if mom & dad were in the photo too!

We’re looking forward to Capers’ first Easter!

We spent Saturday afternoon at the lake with family.

Sunday was St. Patty’s day!

We made a leprechaun trap to leave out while we went to church. That leprechaun was too fast and too sneaky, haha. He left candy instead!

This was such a fun activity for Brewer this year!

My babies! #BrotherlyLove

We spent the afternoon at home and went to Harry’s parents that evening for St. Patty’s Day dinner!

Monday night, Brewer had his first night of T-Ball… ever!

We had a practice/ jamboree to kick off the season.

I can’t explain it but this night brought our family a lot of joy. It’s like those moments you dream about when you find out you’re going to be a boy mom & dad. You think about starting sports. And on this night, all of those dreams started coming true!

Does this photo make us official T-Ball parents?

We are so excited to be entering “ball days” with our Brew Brew!

He had SO much fun! He ran out to the field with no hesitation and he ran off the field to give mom and dad high fives. Those moments made my heart smile. If that even makes sense. ❤️

Little brother was also there to support!

He gave the coach a high five too!

I look at this photo and see genuine joy.

He ran around the bases, threw some rocks, kicked some dirt, and hit the ball.

After practice/ jamboree, Harry was going to carry his bag for him and Brewer said, “no, I want to carry it!”

He was so proud of his bag and his t-ball snacks too! lol

Here’s to a season of continuing to play in the dirt, chase some butterflies, and hittin’ the ball a few times too!

Night 1 was a sweet memory that my heart will always treasure!

~

And that sums up life lately!!

We are in full on, mom & dad mode every single day with all of the things: We get tired, we get sick, we make memories, and we’re having so much fun! This is the life I dreamed of.

We’re excited for all the things spring will bring! Happy, happy spring y’all!

*I’ll be back here tomorrow for this month’s edition of, “This & That Thursday!
