Life Lately

HelloOoOo!!

It has been quite a minute here in blog world! To be honest.. I get busy, life happens, then I wonder, should I still be blogging?

Every single time I wonder that.. it makes me sad because this is a space that I love. The answer is absolutely yes to blogging.

This space is my online happy corner. It’s my creative outlet. It’s my way of getting my thoughts out. It’s also become my digital scrapbook.

My blog simply brings me joy and that’s why I do it! I also love that you’re here 🙂

Today, I have a big round up of “Life Lately” to catch up on all the things!

Everything from a weekend getaway, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, and so much more.

Starting with…

The boys first trip to the circus

This was such a special memory, taking the boys to the circus for the very first time. I think Capers (& myself) enjoyed it the most!

My tip for events like this… buy wands from the dollar store or Walmart and give them to your kiddos at the event vs. buying the wands there. Save yourself $40+ 😉

Linking our $3 wands, here!

I love having one on one time with the boys! Brewer and I had a sweet rainy day together a while back in Greenville while attending a birthday party.

Speaking of life…. We could not be more grateful for our life group at church!

We felt the Lord call us to First Baptist Spartanburg last summer. This church has been very special to us in other parts of life and it became clear, God wanted us there on Sundays too. After months of visiting on Sunday mornings, we have officially joined! We love the precious people in this place!

Another change… my hair, ha!

I’ve been bright blonde my entire life. I started highlighting my hair during my high school years when my natural became a few shades darker.

Lately, I’ve been tapping more into my roots and finding my natural shade again!

A random salad mix I’ve been loving lately..

Iceberg lettuce, spinach leaves, cherry tomatoes, red onion, chopped celery, chopped bacon, hard boiled egg, and this lemon basil vinaigrette dressing… YUM! // can also add feta!

I found this in my camera roll… Brewer’s nap time pals ❤

Here is a little Valentine Recap!

There is nothing like the excitement of school valentines!

Brewer’s valentines- We’re in our paw patrol era!

Capers’ valentines for his sweet friends!

School Valentine party & book fair on the same day… formula for the best day ever!

Valentines Day fell on a Saturday ❤️

Love those boys of mine!

Nana came to visit & bring valentines- peep Capers’ plush Chase in the back of his tractor!

Our favorite way to spend Valentine’s Day is Chinese take out for dinner..

..and a slumber party in the living room!

This year, we watched The Little Rascals

It was a sweet one! ❤️

My friend Amanda and I had a “galentines” night at a local candle making class!

This was SO fun! Candle making, watching pretty woman, & talking all things life.

I’m so grateful for Amanda!

We had a lot of nice weather days in February that called for being in the park & seeing lots of sweet friends.

boy mama life 💙

cutie

Warm weather days also called for a Fr8 Yard Friday night

I celebrated this sweet mama recently!

So excited for my friend & coworker, Jillian and her growing family!

Welcome to the jungle! Brewer’s school hosts the sweetest events. We recently attended STEAM night!

The very next day, I chaperoned Brewer’s class field trip to the Children’s Museum. This was a first for both of us- Brewer’s first field trip & my first field trip as “mom” instead of “teacher.”

That face!!

Ace recently turned 13. His birthday fell during our big snow day!

Find our snow recap, here!

6 days later.. Nash turned 6! We always celebrate the doggies birthdays with ice-cream!

*this is an old photo- back during the holidays

I snapped this right before Capers had heirloom portraits made!

While Capers was having his photos taken, Brewer had a fun day with Honey & Papa! Brewer has been loving the “Elephant & Piggy” book series, so they took him to see the play 🙂

We had a weekend getaway to IOP to close out winter and welcome all things spring!

All my beach boys!

We went into downtown Charleston during this trip and did some exploring!

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory

The Battery

Dinner at Leon’s

It was chilly but we still squeezed in time on the beach!

We almost always visit the local bookstore while in IOP during the off seasons.

Coffee from Cafe Paname is also a must when at the beach!

We haven’t been in IOP in the winter in a long time. It was a sweet way to close out the season and begin a new one!

I came home and immediately brought out all the spring decor on March 1st.

Spring is my color pallet- I love all the bright pastel colors!

Found this in my recent camera roll too! Brewer and I running errands one afternoon 🙂

Whoever thought of pajama day for the kiddos at church following daylight savings and losing an hour of sleep is brilliant!!

Easter Pajamas

Serious about getting his fries delivered to the table

The joys of SPRING

Speaking of spring… tis the season for back porch meals!

Burrito bowls thanks to a Pinterest recipe

Framily night at Fretwell // friendships going strong since they were itty bitty. We love these kiddos and their fams!

Camden and Capers // a mini Luke & Harry

Their dads grew up best friends and now they get to as well. Be still my heart 💙 💙

We had fun at Camden’s party!

We celebrated lots of recent family birthdays with my fam a couple weekends ago!

We are back!! This was taken before the first t-ball practice of the new season! ❤️

School drop off jams 😉

Brewer and I both love our Disney music.

I snapped this recently and decided it’s time to share incase it could change your life too!

Back in the fall, I finally got on board with grocery delivery after friends from church convinced me. It has been a game changer!

I aim to have groceries delivered on a Friday morning for the following week, then I don’t have to think about it over the weekend! Bam. Done. Life changing.

“A persons a person no matter how small.” ❤️

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

So many baby cows around the meadow lately

My friend Emily is the easiest friend to celebrate! We had the best time celebrating her birthday at The Kennedy recently.

Boys.. ha! My spring break was last week and we had lots of moments like this.

River and Capers had the best little day date- glad Jillian and I got to tag along too 😉

We had fun at the library!

Hare & the Hound for lunch!

The best day!

Brewer had another fun day with Honey & Papa at a spring festival this past weekend! He loved every minute watching shows, a parade, making crafts, and being spoiled by his grands.

I attended a women’s conference at church to hear author, podcaster, and speaker who is also blind- Jennifer Rothschild. She was absolutely incredible!!

Jennifer gave a powerful message about walking by faith not by sight because earth is short and Heaven is long. One day, we will see but for now, keep the faith!

We also celebrated St. Patty’s Day during spring break. It’s only fitting to celebrate St. Patrick’s back home in Clover, ha! 🍀

It is so special bringing my boys back to my hometown to make memories!

small town fun

The annual St. Patty’s festival is always a hit!

The night before St. Patrick’s Day…

Our annual tradition reading, “How to Catch a Leprechaun”

and making our leprechaun trap!

Leprechauns are too sneaky to catch but a leprechaun did stop by and perform some tricks 😉

He left some decorations behind..

..he turned our milk green..

..and left some coins and candy!

The boys helped me make green pancakes to go along with the shenanigans.

That afternoon was chilly yet a beautiful afternoon for tulip picking!

I’m obsessed with the vibrant colors of tulips!

These boys make me feel the luckiest!

Lucky, lucky me!

Whew! That was a lot of “life lately!

Aside from all of the above, we have kept busy with fun spring projects around the yard!

~

That is all for today! Have a great Wednesday and check back here tomorrow for a bonus blog post this week!
