Hey, Hey, Happy Wednesday!

I’m surprised I even know what day it is. We have been living in winter wonderland- aka “marshmallow world” for two-ish weeks now.
We had back to back winter storms over the past two weekends and I’m bottling up those memories in today’s blog post.
This feels like a winter diary day because there is truly, nothing like the magic of a snow day!
~
So here we go… Dear Diary…

Our wish came true that I mentioned in an earlier blog post and we got our first round of snow (+ ice) during Brewer’s birthday weekend!

The first snow morning called for blueberry pancakes..

..before heading out the door!

Looking through snow pictures, I’ve noticed Capers plastic cow everywhere, ha!

Our 5 year old making snow angels to top off his birthday weekend, thank you Jesus!

Happy boys 🩵🩵
Capers has a love/ hate relationship with gloves

Happy mama too 🤍

the excitement of a southern snow day

The first round of snow included lots of ice. It made sledding a lot of fun!

After the first day of playing in the snow, we watched “Frosty the Snowman” that evening.

A moment for the valentine decor

I put all the little Valentine touches around the house that weekend

Harry took the boys by the Imagination Station in Spartanburg the day before the snow storm. They bought a farm puzzle and we put it together that night.
Harry thought it would be fun incase we lost power but thankfully we never did! The weather reporters were prepping us for the possibility due to ice being in the mix.

Snow day two!!

We went into the backyard woods this day and went sledding along the trails.

This was so fun!

and so pretty!

This felt like a day we will never forget.

The beauty of winter

All of these snow days also meant e-learning days at home!
I’ve gotten this question a lot about my job, “does your virtual school close for snow days?” No, we do not! There would have to be a wide spread power outage for it to affect our school closing. Example.. Hurricane Helene last school year, we did close.
Luckily, our snow storms began during weekends. Harry also worked from home with me + the boys, during most of the weekdays as the snow conditions continued!

Snow round two!!

The next weekend, in came a beautiful blizzard to celebrate Ace’s 13th birthday!
It snowed all. day. long. It quite literally looked like a blizzard outside!

A little throw back to a winter snow in 2016 in honor of Ace’s birthday! We’ve had a lot of snow days with him over the years, he’s been here for it all. This birthday makes 13 years young 🥳

I love this picture of Brewer in his clubhouse making snow balls.

Harry and Brewer had many snowball fights! I can still hear the laughter from these moments. 🫶

This snow buddy was just happy to be outside!

Snow days are the best days

We rode our neighbor’s side by side around the meadow

Blankets of snow everywhere!

I mean, look how pretty!

the cow cows

We won’t be forgetting this snow anytime soon!

We had chili for dinner and dessert…
It’s not a snow day without snow cream 🤍
We also watched Jack Frost! I love the coziness of a snow day.

The next morning (day 2 of snow round 2), Harry made the pancakes this time. He called it, “Cochran Cracker Barrel.” Lol

The boys finally got their snowman! They were so excited, naturally, they named him Frosty.
The snow was a perfect powdery snow that it actually made it difficult to stick together and make a snowman.
The trick that worked for us was using a bucket & water to help sculpt it 😉

Clearly, Capers thought it was bright outside

and he was amazed

magic memories

After building our snowman, it was time for naps. This is how Capers takes a nap.. just the essentials

Brewer (& the pups) checking on “Frosty” outside!

While the boys napped, Harry set up a “backyard fire date.” Love him 🤍

After naps, we were back to the snow fun.
This boy was living his best life sledding on our street, the woods, and little hills around our yard.

And this one had to get on his tractor in the snow! Also.. living his best life.

The next day- Monday, the snow had melted a lot along the roads but many fields were still covered in white as we took a walk around the meadow!

Monday’s nap photo.. can you tell we’re in our “age 2 era” // this time he needed sunglasses to take a nap along with his crib full of stuff. Haha, I love him!
~

Truly.. a marshmallow world to remember this winter!
~
Have a great week! See you in blog world next Wednesday!
