Happy 5th Birthday, Brewer!

Today is a special blog post…

school pictures- so handsome 🫶

Brewer is officially F I V E… one whole hand!

Yet, this is what I see when I look at him!

It’s been the best 5 years of my life.

All I ever wanted to be is a mommy and this sweet boy made me that!

Each year brings more joy and more fun!

It is a gift to watch you grow!

Today, I’m going to blog some 5 year updates for our boy + how we spent his birthday!

These young years are filled with so many milestones. The last milestone post I did for Brewer was “4 and a half.” I blogged that one six months ago. Find it, here:

Brewer is 4… and a half!

Since then…

Brewer started 4K in August at our neighborhood school and he loves it!

We are grateful for how well he has adapted. He loves his teachers, he loves his friends, and he is learning so much!

Brewer’s favorite food is pizza!

It seems like we have a short rotation list when it comes to things he likes to eat. I know it’s common for his age but whew, it’s something we continually try to work on.

He loves the Carolina gamecocks like his daddy!

He is the best big brother! He is kind, caring, he shares, and really looks out for Capers.

Capers thinks that Brewer hung the moon. I love their little bestie brother bond.

This was Farmer’s Day at school! He spilled “chocolate milk” aka kid friendly protein shake, down his overalls as we were about to leave the house, ha!

He loves his bestie! Brewer and Liam have been best friends since they were two.

Brewer is our outgoing, friendly, always up for adventure, and willing to try anything new & fun!

Including.. riding a horse! This fall was his second time on a horse.

Brewer loves the holidays, just like his mama 😉

Halloween and Christmas are his favorites!

I snapped this photo the other day. Haha, just the essentials for nap time. He is still a big fan of his giraffe loveys. We need them everyday!

Brewer has been receiving books in the mail from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library for several years. He got his last one this month because he turned 5…. and begins kindergarten at this age.

Turning 5 feels like a significant number for a lot of reasons! This is one of them!

More things Brewer loves: hot wheels race cars, paw patrol, his backyard, diggin’ in the dirt, roller coasters, & anything chocolate.

He also loves his family, pup pups, friends, and Jesus, BIG!

Things Brewer does not like: He can be Mr. Independent at times. He doesn’t always like being corrected- especially by mom & dad.

He can have occasional *five and feisty* moments.

Brewer, you are our forever first born who started our family and we love everything about you!

Now, let’s talk about how we celebrated year 5!

I know this feels like the birthday that just keeps on going. Lol, turning 5 is a big deal!

We started celebrating early. We took a trip several weeks before his birthday because it was the “mid point” between both boys birthdays.

This year, their birthdays called for an adventure! Read all about it, here:

Over the river and through the woods, to the mountains for 2 & 5

Fast forward a few weeks after the bday trip, he requested paw patrol cupcakes to celebrate with his class at school on his birthday eve!

Publix made the cupcakes and I ordered the rings to put on top. Find those, here:

Paw Patrol Rings

He talked about this for days leading up to it! He was SO excited!

Our sweet neighbor Mrs. Pam brought by birthday surprises and homemade muffins! She’s so sweet to remember ALL of our birthdays.

Birthday morning called for balloons in bed!

We gave him this plush Chase (& new binoculars) as a gift because he loves Paw Patrol! My mom actually told me about this plush because she happened to see it for $16. It’s a large plush too!

This would make a great Valentine gift instead of the Valentine bears this year. All kids love Paw Patrol, right?! Linking it, here along with other Paw Patrol characters:

The grands stopped by to visit too with sweet birthday surprises 🫶

That afternoon, Harry and I took Brewer to lunch. Fuddruckers for the win!

I actually haven’t been here in forever until about two weeks ago. We went with our life group one night and I thought, this would be a great spot to take Brewer for his 5th bday!

Then, we were off to Big Air…

…to meet his bestie for a playdate. You have to celebrate turning 5 with your bestie!

They had the best time jumping, sliding, climbing, etc!

I felt like the cool boy mama that day, watching my 5 year old & his bestie be wild boys, haha!

It was SO fun!

I had the best day turning 5 with Brew Brew!

Of course, we ended the night with our birthday book tradition..

“Heaven blew every trumpet and played every horn, on the wonderful, marvelous night you were born.”

I said this in my last blog post… the last time we had a big snow was 4 years ago..

…the week Brewer turned 1.

We were hoping for a big snow for the 5th birthday too since we knew there was a chance in the air!

Well, that wish came true!

We had a winter storm filled with snow & ice to play in, to top off the 5th birthday weekend!

It was a very fun and special time!

I’ll blog more about the snow later! Anddddd there’s a chance we’ll see more snow this coming weekend, too!

~

You are so much fun Brewer and we’re excited for all the wonderful things sweet, little age 5 will bring!

It’s been a Happy, Happy 5th Birthday! 🥳

*I’ll be back tomorrow with a bonus blog post this week*
