Hiiii friends! It’s the eve of Valentine’s Day!!!
Ahh! I said this in Tuesday’s blog post (find it here) but I love Valentine’s Day because it’s just a fun, cheesy, light hearted holiday!
In honor of it being a holiday week, I’m blogging a few tips for how to make the holidays and special occasions, festive!
I don’t take the holidays lightly 😉
Two reasons:
1. I think life should be celebrated. Life can be filled with hard moments so let’s celebrate all the things when we can!
2. It’s memories! We’re creating memories with those around us by making the holidays fun, special, & filling the holidays with moments to be remembered.
Here’s a few tips for making the holidays feel festive:

–Decorate: This always gets me in the spirit! Plus, my kids love it! This can be super simple, nothing elaborate. My boys got excited to see the $5 valentine banner from Target in our living room this year!

–Make foods that go with the holiday: Heart shape brownies, Christmas tree shaped cookies, red, white blue dessert to celebrate America! You get the picture!

-Read a book for the holiday– I love swapping out books in the boys’ rooms! It makes story time fun for me and them. I also like reading books myself that go with the holiday or season!

-Watch a movie– I love a good holiday movie! Sometimes, I even write down the movies for the holiday season (especially Christmas) so I don’t forget to watch them! I just mark them out as I go.
Movies I think of for Valentine’s Day: Legally Blonde, Lady & the Tramp, The little Rascals, The Notebook, Titanic!

–Music– I love a cheesy playlist that goes with the holiday! It puts me in a festive mood while cleaning the house, cooking, etc.

–Make silly traditions– Again, this can be so simple! I’m big on traditions.
Example: we eat take-out Chinese food every New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s Day! It’s a tradition that Harry & I started years ago while dating. I’m looking forward to that little tradition this Valentine’s Day ❤️
Another Example: We started a back to school tradition this year of making blue pancakes on the first day of school! Simple & fun. But it turns that into a “feels like holiday” and something special to look forward to!

–Dress the part– We all naturally do this anyway but goodness, I love planning holiday attire! Especially for the boys! Who am I kidding.. I like planning holiday attire for me too!
Bonus:
-Have a countdown– Littles love this! It fills the air with the holiday spirit chatting about upcoming plans & having a little countdown board.

Those are my few little notes ❤️
Make your valentines Day light hearted, cheesy, fun, and spend it with family + friends you love!

Last week, in honor of Valentine’s Day, I blogged about my Valentine but instead of listing all the things we love about each other, we talked about our pet peeves + quirky habits!
Find that, here:
Tell All Tuesday: Pet Peeves + Quirky Habits
You all loved that blog post! Today before I go, I’m listing a couple little “this or that” fun facts about us:
I prefer ice in my water, Harry does not.
Harry loves blue cheese dressing, I do not. (I think it tastes like it sounds.)
Harry reaches for a spoon for most meals, I reach for a fork.

I’m so grateful for my Valentine, all 3 of them, all 5 including the pups! I’m looking forward to celebrating with my loves ❤️
Happy Valentine’s Day Eve, friends!
I’ll be back on the blog next Monday!
