Happy New Year! 5 resolutions for 2025!

Happy, Happy New Year, friends!

Can you believe it’s 2025?! It still seems like the year 2000 was yesterday!

How did everyone ring in the new year? Our NYE looked a lot like this:

And Chinese take out.. this has been our NYE tradition for years! 🙂

It was a lowkey but perfect NYE! There’s no other way I’d rather ring in a new year!

Something about a new year just feels exciting! I love the fresh start to set goals & New Year’s resolutions.

I also believe in writing out goals, dreams, and resolutions if you want to stick to them and achieve them! Today, I’m going to list 5 resolutions that I have in mind for 2025:

Here we go:

5 for 2025:

1. More Jesus! This is always at the top of my list. I’m pretty good about doing my quiet time each day and reading my devotional. I want to dive more into the Bible though and memorize more scripture. I also want to spend more time in intentional prayer with God over our family’s future for dreams and desires He has put on our hearts!

2. Work out consistently– this is a top resolution for most people, right? I love to work out but I want to work out more frequently. I’m on day 3 of the new year and I’m off to do my 3rd work out of the new year after I publish this post! How long will this last? My goal is to stick with a routine this year!

3. Wake up earlier/ Go to bed sooner- I wake up early but I want to be waking up even sooner so that I have time for more Jesus and working out in the AM! That can really set the tone for the day. If I’m going to wake- up sooner, I need to be in bed sooner. Sleep is so important. Anywhere you look for health advice, you hear about sleep and the importance of getting 8 hours each night!

I love to wake- up early but by default, I’m more of a natural night owl. I am going to push myself to go to bed sooner so I can be up earlier and still aim for 8 hours of sleep. Even if I’m not asleep early, I’m going to at push myself to wind down early: be in bed reading a book until I fall asleep or be in pajamas resting while watching a show!

4. Read more– Over the past several years of becoming a mom, I have began several books that I never finished. This year, I am determined to pick those books back up along with new books and read more! Everyday, I need to read at some point instead of scrolling. I’ve said this before but the goal is minimum, 1 book a month! On January 1st, I picked up the book, “It starts with us.” I started this sequel back in the fall but didn’t get very far! I’m on day 3 of the new year and have read a big chunk already! I’ll report back!

5. Try new recipes– In the routine of trying to live all around healthier with more exercise, enough sleep, drinking enough water, etc.. I want to try new healthier recipes! I tend to stick to “what I know” in the kitchen because that’s just easier as a mom but I want to try new recipes this year! I’ve never been an extreme health nut but I wouldn’t say we are unhealthy either. We are cognizant of the foods we eat. This year, I want to be even more aware of the ingredients I’m cooking with and putting in my body!

So in total, live an all around healthier lifestyle! I want to be the healthiest version of me for Jesus, my family, and myself!

I have two young babies and I’m going to need lots of energy for many, many years!
