This & That Thursday

It’s December 19th!!!

Y’all!! That means it’s our anniversary, it’s the Thursday before Christmas, and less than a week away from Old Saint Nick coming to town!!

I’m excited to blog a little “This & That Thursday” to share all the things we’ve been up to this week before Christmas!

Let’s get to our line- up!!

Starting with..

This Week:

Harry turned 33 on Monday!!

Funny story…

The morning of his birthday, he started his tahoe and came back inside & said “heck yeah! The ole Chevy is still running for my 33rd birthday!”

Harry is 33 and still drives his very first car from high school! 😆🫣🤪 (I’ve questioned this many times) That’s Harry… simple, an old soul, the world’s BEST husband, and daddy our family could ask for! “Hey Daddy” are famous words in our house. Our boys have the best role model.. EVER!

We thank Jesus for the gift that you are! You’re loved by all who know you!

Harry requested homemade tacos and a Christmas movie (Home Alone) with the fam to celebrate his birthday! Plus cookie cake & presents from the boys & me! We did just that and it was perfect!

So I can kiss you anytime I want 🤍

I love this week of the year because I get to talk about this guy twice in one week! 😉

Today is our 9th wedding anniversary!!

I will always cherish saying “I do” during the most beautiful time of year! I’m grateful for Harry on the good days, the crazy days, the hard days, and the perfect days!

My very best friend ❤️

I love this little life we’ve built! 😘

This year we were celebrating 9 years of marriage + 1 year of parenting two 🩵🩵

We celebrated a couple weeks ago with a performance in Greenville, “Holiday at Peace” and dinner at Halls!

Today, we’re hanging out in jammies with the boys, making dinner at home tonight, and we have a fun little Christmas craft planned with the boys!

Looking forward to:

Our family really does celebrate all the things this time of year so there’s plenty to look forward to but Santa comes in 6 days!!! I’m so excited!

“The only thing better than being a child at Christmas is having a child at Christmas.”

Currently Dreading:

It’s the jolliest time of year so I hate to say I’m dreading something… but, this weekend I’ll go out to the grocery store to get all the things we need for Christmas dishes and baking! I need to prepare myself because everyone else will be doing the same thing 🤪 haha, we all want fresh food for the holidays right!

Reminiscing On:

Our Christmas wedding!!

We have a hard copy photo album and I’m sure tonight, we will sit down and walk down memory lane to relive this night! ❤️

We also went to Clover on Sunday to see my little *senior* brother perform! If you’ve ever heard the Clover Choraliers perform, then you know it was a treat. I’ve been listening to all the songs from the performance ever since then. It was so good!!

Watching/ Reading:

We are watching alllllll the Christmas movies! Every single one of them!

Last Saturday night, we watched the Grinch because prior to that, we had some visitors in the neighborhood..

Brewer was so excited until the Grinch stuck his head out the window! lol, he prefers him to stay inside the movie!

I started this book another year at Christmas and didn’t finish it because ya know.. that’s life with littles! But I restarted it this Christmas and it’s a cozy, merry little read!

There are several books I’ve started in the past and didn’t finish. I’m determined to pick those few books back up in 2025 and finish them along with reading new books!

Listening to:

I listen to all the Christmas music! Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers Christmas is my favorite. It’s like the sound of childhood during Christmastime to me! I can remember that album playing all throughout the house during the holidays, including Christmas morning! Now I’m carrying those same tunes into my own home for the holidays!

What’s on the menu:

Monday, we had tacos for Harry’s birthday.

Tuesday, Harry went to dinner with friends so me + the boys had leftovers.

Wednesday, we had baked spaghetti.

Tonight, we’re having dinner at home on our fine china! Anniversary tradition! ✨

I’m Loving:

I met a precious angel baby this week and I am so in love!! Congratulations Miklosky fam, baby Channing is perfection!

I am loving all the little Christmas babies, the Christmas traditions, and just the spirit + love that’s in the air!

Weekend Vibes:

*I snapped this photo after Brewer’s Christmas program last Friday!*

It’s Christmas weekend!! All the shopping is done! We are going to soak in the magic wonder of the season!

Bible Verse:

I wanted to leave y’all with a Christmas-y Bible verse!

I know there’s a lot of things to do this time of year: shop, wrap, see family, see friends, shop some more, wrap some more, go to the grocery store, do the traditions, etc etc etc. but take time between now and Christmas to remember what it’s all about..

It’s about Jesus coming to bring peace, joy, hope, and love that can only be found in Him!

I pray all of you reading this will experience the true blessing of peace this Christmas by seeking Jesus!

~
