Happy, Happy August from our eight month, baby Capes!!

I love that we begin each new month celebrating this sweet boy’s monthly milestones!

This month and age was filled with lots of fun things! Capers is crawling, babbling, grabbing, and we’re watching his sweet personality bloom more & more!

He laughs all the time and has truly been a ray of sunshine watching him grow + enjoy fun things this summer. Let’s dive more into his latest month!

It is a joy to be his mommy. Capers still remains super chill & go with the flow. We can be on a family outing, toting him to big brother’s swim lessons, etc. and he is just happy to be along for the ride!

We call him our pillsbury dough boy! Haha. We love this little squish.

It’s been so sweet making summer memories with him & big brother this summer!

He’s happy doing indoor things like hanging out in our homemade tent.

He also loves to be outside!

He’s not sitting up on his own just yet. He still needs some support!

But he’s got the boot scootin’ boogie down pat, lol!

He’s always super content on stroller walks. If he’s even slightly fussy, going outside makes him instantly calm! Everyone needs to be in the sun each day! ☀️

He celebrated another big holiday this month.

It was his very first, 4th of July!

He’s eating baby yogurt + baby oatmeal + all the purées! He eats like a champ.. clearly, lol. #chunkymonkey

He doesn’t have any teethies yet but we think we’re maybe getting close? He drools a lot and likes to chew. There was one night he woke up but he immediately started self soothing by putting his hand in his mouth, then went right back to sleep. I mean.. just an angel baby.

Here he is in his Daddy’s baby outfit ready for church! He sits with us during the service. We always sit on the back row incase we need to step out. He typically does well during church but he likes to babble. Sometimes it’s loud. He has a lot to say during church!

He continues to love his jumperoo.

He loooooooves big brother! He watches his every move and they are already playing so well together.

Morning views like this bring me so much joy!

Brewer loves crawling in Capers’ crib in the mornings when he hears him waking up.

Capers doesn’t mind it one bit!

Having two boys has been so, so sweet. I mean, this view.. 🩵🩵 they melt me!

Capers loves his Nana too!

We took Nana to story telling this month at the library! Capers loved watching all the big kids dance & have fun. He was kicking his legs too like he was ready to join in.

Capers is doing well in public places like restaurants. Loud noises don’t seem to bother him too much these days unless he gets startled by something. Example: we’re out & about and someone walks up talking loud that he wasn’t expecting. Otherwise, background noise in public places do not bother him!

We took him to our happy place for the first time this month..

..Jeter Mountain Farm! We love having two little country boys to tote around to our favorite places!

He did great at the farm. He even took a little snooze on me!

We loved having Capers here to celebrate my Grandpa’s 80th birthday! I love that he gets to grow up with his great grandfather around. It’s so special to me! 🩵

He giggles, does the belly laugh, and babbles alll the time!

His first sound that he obtained was “ba.” See the video! Maybe because we say “ba ba” a lot for bottle.

AND, he said his first word this month… wait for it….

…”MAMA!” He said mama!!!! About 4 days ago!! I haven’t caught it on video yet but he has said it multiple times this week!

He had kinda been babbling “M, MM, M, MM” and then it just came out “Mama!” Harry and I have both heard it a few times. Each time, it melts this Mama’s heart right into a puddle.

My sweet baby! I snapped this a couple days ago. He just looked so cute with his hands by his head while I fed him a bottle. lol, I could eat him up! I love him so, so much!!

More things Capers likes:

-being held

-front porch rocking chair

-the dogs, he crawls over to them often and giggles at them

Things Capers does not love:

-He fusses around 7:30ish if we’re not heading toward bed because he’s tired & ready to go night night! He loves his sleep!

-He still loves to be held. He loves to be on the floor playing but there are still times that he will fuss to let us know he wants to be held! I love that about him. 🫶
