Fab Friday

Hello friends!

Happy Friday!

I actually woke up in Columbia this morning for some fun little back to school things with my work fam!

I traveled to Columbia yesterday evening with my sweet “local to me” coworker, Jillian!

I love all of our mommy/ girl time!

I actually sent this video to Harry when I checked into my hotel room because it was eerily quiet. Lol:

Hello Columbia!

I’m not use to things being this quiet! I’m use to noise + toys everywhere. Haha!

Last night, we had a special dinner and today, I’ll be in some meetings + fun “team building” things to kick off the year!

Before heading out this morning, I am blogging this month’s edition of, “Fab Friday.”

This month’s edition will be slightly different. Instead of sharing “items” that I find fabulous, I’m sharing 5 things that money can’t necessarily buy that I find fabulous.

~

Quiet time with Jesus

I talk about this one a lot. It’s fabulous + it’s the best way to begin the day. My kids are watching too.. Brewer now takes out his own Bible, daily. It’s the sweetest thing! It will set the tone for your entire day. If you haven’t incorporated this into your daily routine, give it a try. I always suggest the morning. There’s nothing like starting your day with Jesus!

Back porch/ front porch time

Make time to go sit outside and enjoy the outdoors of your home. I typically sit out back more often, in the morning times. It’s a private space to wake- up, drink coffee, do some quiet time, plus the sun rises in our back yard. In the evening time, we enjoy rocking on the front porch, chatting with people who walk by, and watching for the sunset. The sun sets in front of our house! Watching for the sunset + hanging on the front porch has become mine & Brewer’s thing this summer, even on a rainy night! I love it! Make time for the sunrise and/ or sunset!

Evening walks

Make time to get outside and enjoy your surroundings too! We love our neighborhood walks in the evenings. It’s a favorite activity for the entire family! We love catching up with each other about our day during our evening family walks! Brewer asks to go see the “cow cows” around the meadow. We love and look forward to this family time together!

Planting

If you’ve been following along; you know our tomato garden didn’t do so well this year due to us traveling and lack of rain during that time. We turned the garden into a donut garden for Brewer. lol, he loved it! Find it, here:

Family of 4 this July 4th!

But after our summer travels were complete, we planted lots of rose bushes out back! Technically yes, you are investing money into buying plants but… there’s something about watering plants that Harry & I both find fabulous. We’re excited to watch them grow over time now that they are in the ground and here to stay!

Reading

I love to read books for myself when I have time but I also love reading books to my kids! Brewer loves picking out books to read at night time and I’m beginning to introduce Capers to books too! He loves looking and touching the pages in his little baby board books. It’s such a sweet bonding time with my boys that Harry & I both treasure. One of my favorite things, is switching out the books in their rooms for the seasons + holidays too. Kids love that!! Give it a try if you don’t already!

~

And that completes 5 simple things that I find fabulous!

I am off to spend the day with my work fam & head home to my boys this afternoon!!

Have a fabulous Friday & weekend! I’ll be back on the blog, Wednesday!
