Capers: SEVEN month update!

It’s been 7 months with our sweet, giggly, easy going, and chunky monkey, baby boy!

I’m so excited to recap this month: his milestones, experiences, likes, dislikes, & more!

Somehow the months keep getting sweeter! Capers is at such a fun, giggly stage where he can do more fun things. It’s making summer oh so sweet!

It’s been SO sweet having two baby boys to do summer with this year!

Capers tags along for all of our adventures like.. breakfast out with mommy!

Play dates with sweet friends! He loves Annie Beth.

His favorite place to be is still at home 🫶

Capers is just sweet, easy going, and we think he’s going to be an “old soul” just like his DaDa.

We started this month with a water/ pool day with cousin Susie! These two are already forming such a sweet bond.

Capers had two big beach trips this month!!

Capers can now face outward in the baby carrier while still being close to Mama. That made morning walks on the beach extra fun. He loves checking out his surroundings!

Capers loves his family. He loved having Honey join us on this trip to IOP!

Capers really is a little coastal baby. He was named after the coast in Charleston so it made this summer beach week, extra sweet to have him with us this year! It feels like we always carry a bit of the “coast” with us with this sweet baby.

After the beach trip, Capers had his six month wellness visit. He was so brave! We are so grateful for a healthy growing boy!

He is eating all the purées lately + baby cereal. His favorite flavors are apple & sweet potato.

I should also note that we call him a “lazy eater” with his “babas” (bottles!) He will drink all of them but he tends to let it drip as he’s eating, all the time! Lol. We typically use burp clothes instead of a bib!

He loves bath time too! He’s always kicking and splashing in the tub these days.

He continues to be a great sleeper. He lets us know around 7:30 that it’s bedtime, ha! He will sleep until 7:30ish the next morning! This photo made me smile…. Sweet Ace on brother Brewer’s bed. ❤️

We still go back and forth about who he looks like but I’ve had several people say recently, that he looks like me. I can so see that, especially here!

Having two boys has been really special. They are already growing into the best of friends! When we ask Brewer who his best friend is, he often responds, “papers.”

Capers is laughing out loud at the pups now days. He loves them and they love him too. Ace & Nash often times, find places to lay near him. Little guard dogs!

And then.. we took our second beach trip this month to Florida! Capers did awesome traveling so far at just 6 months old.

He was super content this trip! The only time he really fussed, was at a restaurant when we first arrived. This was after a 7 hour car ride & we were waiting to check into the house. Other than that, he didn’t skip a beat!

He sure does love his Nana!!

He turned into a fish at the pool this trip. He loved being in his baby floatie kicking around in the water!

He has loved being back at home after traveling, too. Home really is his happy place and where he is the most himself!

I’m loving slow summer mornings with him and his brother. It’s never too early to read God’s word to our babies! I love praying over his sweet life, especially at night once he’s asleep in the crib. I’ll watch him sleep while laying a hand over him to pray. It’s so special to me! I love praying over his & Brewer’s life.

Pool fun! We’re loving every minute of his first summer.

Laying on the living room floor with his bucket of toys + having his brother next to him, may be his favorite thing ever. He doesn’t stay on the playmat for long. He rolls everywhere he wants to go!

He’s doing lots of fun things these days like swinging in the baby swings at the park. He loves it!! He kicks his little feet with a big grin on his face. Having brother next to him is always the cherry on top! He really does look up to Brewer!

I love every single bit of his chunky little self. He really is just a little ball of chunk! He had the best bod on the beach this summer lol.

Our very own pillsbury dough boy. Sweet as sugar 🤍 The Lord gives me chunky boys and I’m so glad He does.

He loved our playdate with Natalie and sweet Hughes. He has so many friends to look up to!

Oh… and he continues to love a front porch rocking chair too. He’s really loving all the outside, sunshine time this summer!

Let’s talk about more things Capers loves:

-stroller walks

-his jumparoo

-being tickled

-he’s also grabbing everything in sight

And things Capers does not love:

-being up past bedtime. Ha! It’s like clockwork. 7:30 pm, he’s ready for bed!!

-he’s doing really well being out and about these days. I would still say he doesn’t love a ton of noise.. like maybe a restaurant with loud music. It’s not his favorite thing but he handles it well. (Not that we’re really in places like that often.)
