Schools out for SUMMER!

Hello blog fam!

And HelloOoOoOo SUMMER!

School is out for summer and we are officially on summer break. I’m so excited for a fun summer ahead with these two!

Today’s blog post features a school year recap + how we kicked off summer break + memorial weekend + all things SUMMER… like our daily “summer schedule,” fun ideas, summer attire, and more!

Brewer on his first day of 2K!

Let’s start with the school year! Brewer wrapped up his year in the 2K classroom with his friends!

He learned SO much this year!

He had the best teacher, Mrs. Mary Jane! I can’t say enough wonderful things about her!

Brewer’s friendships run deep at school! He loves his friends SO much and made such sweet memories with them!

Learning was always fun for Brewer this year! This is him playing with train tracks on the day they learned about the circle shape.

He ended the year with a fun water day at school! He talked about his for days!

We’re so thankful for a loving school where he gets to learn about Jesus!

Last day of 2K!

This year, Brewer has come home singing songs, praying prayers, telling us about Jesus, and about all of the fun things that he does at school each day!

I love asking Brewer these questions on the first/ last day of school! When asked, “What do you love?” Without any sort of prompt, he responded, “Jesus” as his first answer! It made my heart so happy!

He also learned about counting, shapes, and he is officially potty trained! He had his “ah ha” moment this school year!

On the last week of school, his teacher sent home all of his artwork in a big portfolio! When I taught in the traditional classroom, this was something I loved to do, hang onto special artwork and send home all at once at the end of the year, as a keepsake!

His teachers signed his book! I love this tradition!! There’s a special place for all of his teachers/ coaches to sign from now through graduation in many, many years!

2023- 2024 was a fabulous school year!

We’re so proud of our Brew Brew!!

I also wrapped up 9 years of teaching!! This was my 3rd year in the virtual setting. It’s been really cool to look back on that journey this year. I made the switch to virtual world when Brewer came along and now with Capers, it’s just been a sweet reminder of how the Lord guided me here!

It was a learning curve when I first switched to virtual teaching and now, it’s become second nature!

I love what I get to do each day!

And now I’m looking forward to summer with these two!

I often get asked if Harry has summers off since he works in education. He gets a lot of time off during the summer but no, not the entire summer.

School years are special in our fam since we both work in education and especially now that we have kiddos! We like to celebrate the end of each school year in a special way. Typically, I like to have a special dinner but we have a toddler + a baby, so this year, we celebrated the school year + the start to summer with a Saturday full of fun!

We went walking on a nature trail Saturday morning!

Shop our stroller, here!

We made a stop for icecream!

And we brought out the plastic pool at home, (every kids dream, lol!)

We spent the afternoon in the backyard!

Bring on all of the fun in the sun this summer! I’m looking forward to all of the things, big & small! Summer is a special season☀️

We spent the rest of the weekend celebrating Memorial weekend!

If you need patriotic wear for the next red, white, blue holiday, I’ve rounded up some things, here:

Patriotic wear for baby/ toddler boys!

We are so thankful for all who sacrificed their lives so that we can live our own lives in freedom. Thank you, isn’t enough.

We spent Sunday and Monday at the lake!

We took the boat out

Brewer had fun just being outside lol. I told y’all, a plastic pool is all a kid needs. Haha

It was a weekend of fun & family!

Our sweet American boy!

Now let’s talk more things summer:

I make a schedule each summer! This year I had to think about two boys, and the schedule looks something like this!

Capers is just now getting into a routine nap schedule during the day. He takes a short nap in the morning, a longer nap mid day, and a short nap late afternoon. During the short naps, I’ll have some one on one time with Brewer!

I’m hoping I can get their mid day naps to overlap. I’m sure we will have good days & off days with this! The good thing is Capers is still a baby and can sleep wherever/ whatever we’re doing!

My annual sunshine web! I love writing down all the things I want to do with my kids over the summer. I look at it and choose an activity for the day: some require us to leave the house, like storytelling at the library, while some are simple things here at home like being in the front/ backyard splash pad!

I love doing this so I don’t forget anything!

Before I go, I’ve rounded up some fun things for summer:

Baby/ Toddler Boy Clothes for Summer

Backyard fun for summer!

*Happy, Happy summer!! I’ll be back here on Saturday to ring in the month of June!*
