Tell All Tuesday: Meal Planning

Hello Friends!!

I hope everyone’s week is off to a great start!

This month’s edition of, “Tell all Tuesday” is all about meal planning!

How do we meal plan around here? Let’s dive into the few simple ways that make our family run smoothly during the week when it comes to meal planning!

~

First thing.. I always, always make a grocery list! I sit down prior to going grocery shopping and plan dinners for the week. Then I look through the kitchen and see what we already have/ what ingredients we still need. Then I cover what we will need for lunch and breakfast on my list!

I have a designated grocery shopping day. Sunday has become my “grocery shopping day.” That’s our day of church, resting, and regrouping for the week!

Lately, we have been going grocery shopping as a family right after church. Sometimes, I’ll go in the afternoons by myself. If for some reason, we don’t make it to the grocery store on a Sunday, I will do grocery pick- up on Monday mornings!

When planning out our meals, I like a variety throughout the week..

Harry likes to fire up the grill, usually once a week, a lot of times on Sunday nights. So, we will get steaks, chicken, pork chops, etc for that and put some easy sides together!

I feel like spaghetti is on every family’s meal rotation, especially if you have kids! Haha. Brewer loves spaghetti. So we plan this weekly or bi-weekly. Baked spaghetti is always a family favorite. Check out the recipe I use: here!

It’s nice having those “go-to” meals on the weekly menu!

We always incorporate salads throughout the week! This is an easy peasy, chicken ceasar salad!

Usually one night a week, I’ll make a dish that we’ve never had or something that takes a little more time! This is a shrimp caprese pasta. The recipe came from Pinterest!

Crock pot meals!! I love having the slow cooker going, especially this time of year! Harry’s pot roast is always a hit around here. There are several meals that Harry enjoys making and this is one of them!

Friday nights have always been our “family date night” out! We cook during the week and go out on Fridays. Saturdays really just depend on what we’re doing that day!

I grocery shop at Lidl most of the time. Occasionally there are a few things I can’t find there and I will hop next door to Ingles. If I’m doing grocery pick-up, I’ll use Walmart.

(Tip for Walmart pick- up… choose their first time slot of the day and you never have to wait long!)

And those are my tips for meal planning and how we do things around here!

Have a great day and I will see y’all back on the blog tomorrow!
