Brewer is 2 & a half!!

Our sweet boy is now 2.. and a half!!

This age is so much FUN!! He is so full of personality, he’s talking so much, he’s learning daily, and always wants to do fun things! I love this age so much, even on the days it does bring along it’s “moments.”

Today, I’m blogging all about this age and what Brewer is up to at 2.5 years old!

He had his 2 year check- up back in the spring! He remains in the upper percentiles! We are grateful for a healthy growing boy!

Brewer is very loving! He’s our sweet little Brew Bear!

He loves to be outside! Wether we are walking to see the animals, playing in the backyard, the beach, the lake, or doing some sort of activity, the outdoors are his, “happy place!”

He loves a holiday, just like his Mama! Lol! He gets into the “festive” activities like me!

No shoes, no shirt, no problem!

Lol, most of the time he’s in a diaper or a shirt and a diaper!

Brewer is obsessed with trucks and all things that move: tractors, trains, and all of those things!

He’s all boy! Look at those tools he insisted on throwing in the back of his truck!

The park is a favorite place for Brewer! No matter which park we go to, he’s going to have a fun time!

He always amazes us when he gets a haircut. He sits in the chair all by himself and is so brave!

He’s my little lunch and errand buddy too! However… errands are getting trickier on some days with Brewer! He’s not always very patient when we go in stores these days. He wants to be on the move.

Brewer has the sweetest little friends who he loves! He says their names a lot and always loves a fun play date!

He talks about his family all. The. Time.

He is obsessed with his cousins! Every morning, I ask brewer what he dreamed about and he always says a family members name!

We’ve had a lot of fun summer adventures together! He is always up for adventure!

These days he often requests to eat dinner outside!

Lately… brewer has become a pickier eater. He loves to say, “I don’t like it.”

His favorites are fruit, spaghetti, sweet potatoes, cheese, yogurt, and sometimes nuggets.

Everything else is, “I don’t like it.”

This has become a very recent thing!!

He is always making us laugh! He lays in bed at night and giggles, he LOVES to dance.. like loves to dance! He’s got this little dance move with a chicken wing arm that he does lately, lol. I need to get it in video! He loves for us to join in with him! Some nights, it is dance party central over here!

He’s been watching us fix up his toddler room and one night he requested “that bed” aka, the toddler bed (that was my childhood bed!)

So we let him sleep there that night (about 2 weeks ago) and he has slept there every night and nap time since then!

We are so proud of him!

When it’s time for bed, Harry & I take turns rocking him (in the bed), reading to him, & praying over him until he falls asleep.

When getting ready for bed, he says, Mommy rock em’ or Daddy rock em’. It’s so sweet!

Now with this transition, comes little set backs that are to be expected. It’s taking longer for him to fall asleep at night but he’s continuing to get better each night. There have been a few nights over the past couple of weeks where he wakes up in the middle of the night. It’s kinda funny (& freaky) but when he wakes up, he walks out of his room and slams the door! Lol, it immediately wakes us up. One of us will go lay with him until he goes back to sleep!

Brewer completed his first round of swim lessons in the month of July! We did Mommy & Me swim lessons this summer and we both loved it! He learned how to blow bubbles in the water, move his arms & legs in the water, and jump in holding mommy’s hands!

He loves the water! We’re looking forward to more swim lessons next summer!

Brewer loves the beach!!! The ocean, the sand, the birds, wagon rides.. he loves it all! We are grateful for that! This age could be hit or miss on the beach.. the heat, humidity, sticky sand. But he truly does love it!

He’s just our best little buddy..

..who we love doing life with!

We are soaking up these days of it just being Brewer before he becomes a big brother!

We can’t wait to see him with a brother! That is just what he needs and know he is going to love it!!

Let’s talk about more things that Brewer likes:

-bubbles

-throwing the ball

-Disney movies (I get asked a lot about his favorite show but he doesn’t have one! He’s more interested in Disney movies: Toy Story of course, Lion King, Cars, etc)

Learning

-Brewer is beginning to talk in sentences now! He learns new words everyday!

-We are slowly introducing more learning these days with colors, letters, & numbers too! He loves fun activities with those things!

-Potty training… he’s for sure interested in it! We recently bought a potty to let him sorta feel it out before we dive into the training. He’s starting to show “ready” signs! So maybe soon? We’ll see?!

Let’s talk about more things that Brewer does not like:

-clothes/ diaper changes… sometimes!

-brushing his teeth (this use to be something he loved but not currently)

He’s at that “two (and a half) stage” that people talk about! He loves to say, “My do it!” And do everything himself. We love that he’s developing his own personality. It comes with lots of opinions though!
