Hello!
Happy Friday Eve!!
Today, I am recapping, “a day in the life: summer weekday edition!”
I always pick ordinary days on the calendar for these posts and just see where the day takes us!
I put it on the calendar to document our Tuesday this week, July 25th. Grab your coffee and see what a summer Tuesday looks like for us!

I slept in a bit on this day because we were a bit later going to sleep the night before! I’ll tell you “why” in just a moment!

After waking up, around 7, I got ready for the day and did my quiet time before Brewer woke up around 8!

He slept in his new bed for the first time the night prior!!!! Go Brewer go!!
He has been watching us slowly fix up his new room and the night prior he requested, “that bed!”

It took a while longer to fall asleep (to be expected) but he was ready! We laid with him in bed for over an hour until he fell asleep.

And he slept all night long!!! He has continued to do this all week!

I think it helped that we’ve had a few weeks to build the excitement with his new safari sheets and we’ve been calling it, “his bed!” We also let it be “his decision” to move beds!
This is actually my childhood bed! It’s sweet because Brewer also slept in my baby crib in his nursery.
The bed is a size full! We put these guard rails on both sides of the bed! Harry & I are continuing to lay with him at night until he falls asleep. It’s taking a wiii bit longer but the new bed is off to a great start!

Breakfast time!!
Fun fact: I craved fruit while pregnant with Brewer and now he loves all fruit!

My friend Brittany called to catch up that morning! We love Aunt Britty!

I chatted with Brittany for a bit while Brewer ate breakfast and he wanted to watch the animated version of the Grinch!
Lol, he is SO my child! He loves Christmas just like me!! He talks about Santa quite often!

A bit later that morning, Emily & Judson surprised us with a visit!!
We love surprise visits from our favs!!

They were in the area and stopped by to play & stroll the meadow with us that morning!

After our playdate, we met “DaDa” for lunch at his favorite place- Chipotle!
I love these two so much it hurts!

After lunch, Brewer was ready for a nap in the new bed! It’s taking less time to fall asleep at nap time than night time. Brewer has always loved taking a nap! I think it also helps that we are usually up & moving and doing some sort of activity in the mornings. Then, he’s tired and ready for a nap!

On Monday, we went to Strawberry Hill and got some peaches! During nap time on Tuesday, I made a peach cobbler!

Before it went into the oven..

I played outside with the pups while it baked + did some things around the house!

..coming out of the oven!

So yum!!!

That evening, we were off to swim lessons at the local Y!

We have loved going to, “mommy/ me” swim lessons this month! Brewer loves the water and the water has been refreshing for me too! We love the indoor pool at the local Y!

After swim lessons, we went to Harry’s parents house for dinner with the fam to see Aunt Rosie who came to town!
Brewer loves the backyard at Honey & Papa’s house!

We came home, gave Brewer a bath, read to him, and laid with him until he went to sleep!
Harry & I have been taking turns laying with him each night!

Then, we got ready for bed! I try to make myself read for a few minutes at night and put my phone down. My goal is to read one book a month, even though it doesn’t always happen!
I’m still reading, “Dear Carolina” by Kristy Harvey! It’s sooooo good!
~
And that is a “day in the life: summer weekday edition!”
These are the simple, ordinary days, that we will treasure forever & ever!
*I will be back on the blog, next Thursday!*
Have a great weekend and as always you can find me over on instagram stories: @kristencochranblog
